UBTECH Walker S2 Mass Delivery Marks the Dawn of Mass Production for Industrial Humanoid Robots

2025-11-18

Shenzhen-based robotics firm UBTech has begun production and delivery of its humanoid robot, Walker S2, with hundreds of units expected to be deployed in frontline industrial applications.

The company stated this milestone marks the world’s first large-scale deployment of humanoid robots, establishing a replicable benchmark for future humanoid adoption in real-world settings.

UBTech aims to deliver 500 units within China by the end of the year.

The Walker series is positioned by UBTech as a strategic shift from mere product delivery toward “scenario-driven” use cases, which the company believes will pave the way for widespread adoption of humanoid robots.

According to a company press release, “Walker S2 is the world’s first industrial humanoid robot integrated with Co-Agent, UBTech’s proprietary intelligent agent system. This system enables closed-loop operations, including intent understanding, task planning, tool usage, and autonomous anomaly detection and resolution.”

Earlier this year, the company demonstrated Walker’s ability to autonomously replace its own battery, achieving near-full operational independence without human intervention.

To date, UBTech has secured over RMB 800 million (approximately USD 113 million) in orders for the Walker series, ranging from pilot installations to multi-site industrial rollouts.

Recent major contracts include agreements signed in September worth RMB 250 million (USD 35 million) and RMB 159 million (USD 22 million), with plans to deploy Walker S2 units at data collection centers in Zigong.

These shipments represent a significant industrial milestone for Shenzhen’s rapidly maturing robotics sector, highlighting growing demand for humanoid robots capable of handling physically demanding, repetitive tasks traditionally performed by on-site workers.

This development aligns with UBTech’s broader production expansion strategy, targeting annual output of 5,000 units by 2026 and 10,000 units by 2027.

Initial deployments will focus on automotive manufacturing, smart factories, logistics hubs, and data collection facilities.

UBTech has partnered with leading industrial and automotive enterprises including BYD, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor, Geely Auto, FAW-Volkswagen Qingdao, Audi FAW, BAIC New Energy, Foxconn, and SF Express.
