Salesforce is expanding its partnerships with OpenAI and Anthropic PBC to assist clients in automating repetitive business processes.
Announced during the 2025 Dreamforce conference, these new collaborations focus on Agentforce 360, a suite of AI capabilities recently introduced by Salesforce as part of its cloud offerings. Agentforce 360 features more than six automation tools designed to accelerate the creation of tasks like marketing campaigns, while also enabling businesses to build customized AI agents.
The new integration of Agentforce 360 with ChatGPT will allow users to access Salesforce data directly through the chatbot service's interface. For instance, a contact center manager could request a summary of support inquiries from the past week. Additionally, ChatGPT can visualize data retrieved from Salesforce within dashboards powered by Tableau.
"As consumers, we've already experienced instant recommendations or insights from ChatGPT," said Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff. "Now, enterprises can deliver the same level of intelligence and immediacy."
The GPT-5 AI model suite that powers ChatGPT will be accessible within Agentforce 360. This integration will enable companies to embed OpenAI’s models into their AI agents running on Salesforce. These models will also debut in several pre-packaged AI applications within Agentforce 360, starting with Agentforce Sales, a sales automation tool.
Salesforce’s collaboration with Anthropic follows a similar direction. The cloud giant plans to integrate an Agentforce 360 automation application called Agentforce Financial Services with a specialized version of Anthropic’s Claude for Financial Services chatbot tailored for banking professionals. According to Salesforce, this integration will enhance the performance of AI agents deployed on its platform for tasks like portfolio analysis.
Anthropic’s large language models will be available alongside GPT-5 in Agentforce 360. Salesforce states that the integration aims to assist organizations in regulated industries in developing AI-powered automation workflows.
Highly regulated organizations typically face stricter cybersecurity requirements than other businesses. To address these needs, Salesforce will keep all traffic generated by Claude within its Virtual Private Cloud. Anthropic is the first LLM provider to manage traffic in this manner.
"Regulated industries need cutting-edge AI capabilities, but they also require proper safeguards before deploying to sensitive systems," said Dario Amodei, co-founder and CEO of Anthropic. "We built Claude to deliver both performance and protection."
Both Anthropic and OpenAI will introduce new integrations for Slack as part of their respective partnerships with Salesforce. These connectors will enable Slack users to retrieve data from Salesforce services using natural language prompts. Additionally, the companies plan to roll out further features, including one that grants OpenAI’s Codex programming agent access to Slack channel information.
