Gather AI Raises $40 Million to Expand Warehouse Intelligence

2026-02-10

Gather AI, a startup specializing in physical artificial intelligence for warehouse logistics, announced today that it has successfully raised $40 million in new funding. This capital will be used to expand into hundreds of new facilities globally and support the development of predictive capabilities for proactive inventory management.

Founded in 2017, Gather AI offers physical AI—a form of artificial intelligence that learns from real-world physical environments rather than relying on text or internet data. Trained on millions of actual warehouse images, it can interpret on-the-ground situations with high accuracy.

The company claims its technology bridges the long-standing gap between what digital systems believe is happening in a warehouse and the actual situation on the floor, thereby providing a reliable source of truth for operations.

Gather AI's "intralogistics" platform provides continuous physical visibility into warehouse operations, particularly concerning inventory location, movement, and status. The platform captures real-world data to deliver an accurate, up-to-date view of inventory within large and complex facilities, focusing on reducing errors, eliminating blind spots, and improving decision-making.

The AI collects physical data using an autonomous data capture method, which includes computer vision and drones integrated with its software platform. The system scans warehouse aisles, reads labels, barcodes, and text, and automatically inputs the information into enterprise systems without requiring changes to fixed infrastructure or manual scanning.

The core product is what the company describes as dock-to-dock intelligence, extending visibility beyond isolated checkpoints like receiving and shipping. The idea is that by tracking goods' movement throughout a facility, Gather AI's customers can better understand operational workflows, identify inefficiencies, and uncover bottlenecks that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Gather AI has achieved significant growth, including doubling its operational footprint and increasing bookings by 250% over the past year. The platform is used by major logistics and manufacturing firms, including GEODIS SA, NFI Industries Inc., Kwik Trip Inc., Axon Enterprise Inc., Dnata World AG, Barrett Distribution Centers Inc., and Langham Logistics Inc.

The Series B funding round was led by Smith Point Capital Management, with participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Tribeca Venture Partners, Bling Capital Management, Dundee Venture Capital Inc., XRC Ventures, and The Hillman Companies Inc.

"For a long time, supply chains have had a fundamental blind spot: they can't see what's actually happening on the ground," said co-founder and CEO Sankalp Arora. "This funding enables us to evolve from real-time visibility to fully autonomous orchestration."

The new investment brings Gather AI's total funding to $74 million.
