NVIDIA, a leading artificial intelligence chip manufacturer, officially signed a significant agreement with the Vietnamese government in Hanoi. The partnership entails the establishment of an AI research and development center and an AI data center in Vietnam, marking NVIDIA's expansion into the Asian market and infusing new energy into Vietnam's AI sector.

In addition to the aforementioned collaboration, NVIDIA announced the successful acquisition of VinBrain, a medical startup under Vietnam's conglomerate Vingroup. While the specific financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed, this move is set to accelerate NVIDIA's strategic developments in the medical AI domain.

A year ago, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang expressed during his visit to Hanoi that the company aimed to forge closer partnerships with Vietnam's top technology firms to jointly advance talent development, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure in the country. Today, this vision is progressively becoming a reality.

In April, the Vietnamese tech company FPT revealed plans to construct an artificial intelligence factory valued at $200 million, utilizing NVIDIA's graphics chips and software technologies. This initiative not only underscores NVIDIA's leading position in the AI field but also highlights Vietnam's commitment and investment in artificial intelligence technologies.

During the signing ceremony on Thursday, Jensen Huang and the Prime Minister of Vietnam personally attended to witness this pivotal moment. Although the financial specifics regarding the R&D center and data center were not disclosed, this collaboration is poised to bring new development opportunities and challenges to Vietnam's AI landscape.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister stated at the ceremony that artificial intelligence will serve as a major engine for the country's economic growth. He emphasized Vietnam's intention to leverage AI technologies to promote the development of clean energy, transforming natural resources like solar, wind, and wave power into clean and sustainable energy sources. This vision aligns seamlessly with NVIDIA's mission and objectives in the AI sector, and the collaboration between both parties will provide robust support in achieving this goal.
