Artificial intelligence startup Luma AI has announced the launch of its new image generation model, now available to creators and marketers through its popular Dream Machine platform.
Luma AI offers tools that create and generate images and videos based on simple text prompts. The company also announced the rollout of Dream Machine on web platforms and Apple iOS devices, providing a limited-time free service for users to experience its features, alongside the introduction of four new subscription tiers.
Additionally, Luma AI has introduced a new image API for developers, allowing them to integrate image creation capabilities into third-party applications.
In June of this year, Luma AI launched the Dream Machine service targeting creatives and other professionals, leveraging the company’s customized and high-performance image and text generation models. To date, the service has garnered over 25 million users.
Dream Machine is designed to assist creators in expressing their ideas and unleashing their imagination to produce stunning visual works suitable for web content, marketing materials, and more.
A key highlight of Dream Machine is its support for more detailed prompts. Users can provide highly specific instructions, such as generating a video featuring "a cute spotted dog chasing a ball on a beach during sunset, with several children playing in the water in the background and a couple holding hands walking in the foreground." Luma AI states that an extremely realistic and detailed video can be generated in under two minutes, accurately depicting what the user envisions.
Furthermore, Dream Machine supports image prompts, allowing users to upload various images to outline their desired visual themes, structures, and colors. It also offers tools for sharing and collaboratively creating images and videos.
With this update, Dream Machine’s user interface has been revamped to make image and video creation more intuitive and has added several new personalization features, enabling users to edit videos using tools without engaging in prompt engineering.
The newly released Photon Image Model is a high-performance foundational image generation model aimed at designers, filmmakers, educators, small business owners, and visual thinkers. This model processes user prompts 800% faster than comparable models and produces significantly higher quality images.
The Photon Image Model will be available to users and developers through Luma AI Dream Machine and the new Luma AI Photon Image API. This means it can be integrated into other AI applications while ensuring all inputs and outputs remain private and are not used for model training.
Luma AI also announced that Dream Machine now offers free and monthly subscription services, with new subscription tiers including a $9.99 Hobbyist tier, a $29.99 Explorer tier, and a $99.99 Professional tier. Additionally, there is an Enterprise tier for large organizations, though specific pricing has not been disclosed.
