Google Opens AI Video Generation Tool to Workspace Users

2026-01-19

Google is expanding access to its AI video creation platform, Flow. Initially launched in May and exclusive to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, Flow is now being rolled out to users on select Workspace plans, including Business, Enterprise, and Education editions.

Leveraging Google's Veo 3.1 AI video generation model, Flow produces eight-second video clips from text prompts or images. Users can combine these clips to build longer sequences and utilize a suite of editing tools for adjusting lighting, modifying virtual "camera" angles, and adding or removing objects within a scene. The platform recently introduced support for vertical video formats earlier this week.

Building on updates from late last year, Flow now incorporates audio generation for various functions, whether creating clips from reference images, generating transitions between scenes, or extending video segments. Google has also integrated its AI-powered image generator, Nano Banana Pro, into the platform, enabling users to craft characters or establish starting points for their video projects.
