ChatGPT's voice conversation mode has just been upgraded.
Over the weekend, OpenAI rolled out an advanced voice update, enabling users to engage in spoken conversations with ChatGPT. The company stated that ChatGPT’s voice now sounds more natural and fluid, featuring "finer tone modulation," "authentic pacing" (including pauses and emphasis), and improved ability to convey emotions like empathy and sarcasm more effectively.
The voice mode also makes it easier for users to perform language translations. When you request ChatGPT to translate, it will continue translating the dialogue until you instruct it to stop or switch to another language.
This feature is available to all paying ChatGPT users across markets and platforms. OpenAI noted that there might be slight compromises in audio quality, such as "unexpected changes in pitch and tone." Additionally, the update does not address occasional hallucination-related issues in voice mode, such as unintended noises, gibberish, or background music.
