Bloomberg reports that Apple has initiated the formation of a dedicated team to develop an application similar to ChatGPT.

The newly established team, codenamed "Answers, Knowledge and Information," is actively working on constructing an "answer engine" capable of leveraging web-based data to provide responses. This solution could either emerge as a standalone application or integrate search functionalities into existing Apple products such as Siri and Safari.

According to insider Gurman, Apple is concurrently intensifying recruitment efforts for this project, specifically targeting candidates with expertise in search algorithm and engine development.

While Apple has already integrated ChatGPT capabilities into Siri, more personalized AI-driven upgrades for the voice assistant have repeatedly faced implementation delays. Additionally, following Google's antitrust court loss, Apple may need to renegotiate its existing search partnership agreement with the tech giant.
