Google has launched a new subscription plan called Google AI Ultra, designed to integrate more AI products.
This new plan was announced at the Google I/O conference on Tuesday, 2025, offering the "highest level of access" to Google's AI-driven applications and services, according to the tech giant. Priced at $249.99 per month, AI Ultra includes Google’s Veo 3 video generator, the new Flow video editing app, and a powerful AI feature known as Gemini 2.5 Pro deep thinking mode (yet to be released).
"[Ultra is] for those who want to stay at the forefront of Google AI," said Josh Woodward, Vice President of Google Labs and Gemini, during a press briefing.
Currently available only in the United States, AI Ultra joins a growing group of ultra-premium AI subscriptions. At the end of last year, OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Pro, a plan priced at $200 per month that offers higher usage limits for ChatGPT and certain exclusive features. A few months later, Anthropic launched Claude Max, also priced at $200 per month.
Google aims to boost its appeal by providing a wealth of additional features.
In addition to Flow, Veo 3, and Gemini 2.5 Pro deep thinking, AI Ultra also increases limits on Google's NotebookLM platform and Whisk (the company’s image remixing app). Subscribers of AI Ultra can also access Google's Gemini chatbot in Chrome, certain "agent" tools powered by the company’s Project Mariner technology, YouTube Premium, and 30TB of storage space across Google Drive, Google Photos, and Gmail.
One of the agent tools, Agent Mode, will be launching "soon" on desktop. Google says that Agent Mode will be able to browse the web, conduct research, and integrate with Google applications to handle specific tasks.
With the launch of AI Ultra, Google will replace its old Google One AI Premium plan with Google AI Pro. AI Pro will include Flow, NotebookLM, and the Gemini app, formerly known as Gemini Advanced, all with special features and higher usage limits.
AI Pro subscribers can also get early access to Flow and Gemini in Chrome, as well as real-time voice translation in English and Spanish in Google Meet (with additional languages to be added in the future). Voice translation in Google Meet is also available to AI Ultra customers, enabling spoken language to be translated into the listener's preferred language while retaining voice, tone, and expression.
