Alibaba announced today that its Qwen app has surpassed 10 million downloads within just one week of its public beta launch.

This milestone, according to the company, makes Qwen the fastest-growing AI application in history—outpacing ChatGPT, Sora, and DeepSeek.

The Qwen app officially entered public beta on November 17, built upon Qwen, Alibaba’s globally leading open-source large language model, with the goal of delivering the most capable personal AI assistant.

According to official statements, the Qwen app goes beyond simple conversation—it’s designed to actively assist users with real-world tasks, aiming to become a central gateway for AI-powered daily life. The app will gradually expand into key areas including productivity, navigation, health, and e-commerce.

Alibaba emphasized that the current release is an early version, laying the foundation for a smarter, action-oriented personal AI assistant.
