Qwen has released an upgraded version of its image editing model, significantly enhancing facial feature consistency during editing. The new release, Qwen-Image-Edit-2511, is now available on Hugging Face as a successor to the earlier Qwen-Image-Edit-2509. According to the official announcement, the most notable improvement lies in portrait handling—creative edits now preserve the subject's recognizability much more effectively, with substantial enhancements also seen in group photo editing.
The update introduces optimizations in lighting control, camera angle adjustment, industrial product design, and geometric computation. Qwen has integrated popular community-developed LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) models—compact auxiliary modules—directly into the base model. Released under the Apache 2.0 license, the model is accessible via a demo on Hugging Face, and users can also try it for free through Qwen Chat.
