2025-12-10

OpenAI has appointed Denise Dresser, former CEO of Slack, as its new Chief Revenue Officer.

Dresser joins OpenAI after spending over 14 years at Salesforce, Slack’s parent company, where she played a key role in launching multiple AI-powered features.

According to OpenAI, Dresser will lead the company’s enterprise revenue strategy and customer success initiatives—a critical role as OpenAI navigates the challenges of achieving profitability.

“We’re working to put AI tools into the hands of millions of workers across every industry,” said Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s Head of Applications, in a statement. “Denise has led this kind of transformation before, and her experience will be invaluable in making AI useful, reliable, and accessible for businesses everywhere.”

Like Dresser, Simo also joined OpenAI this year, bringing extensive leadership experience—most recently as CEO of Instacart, which has become a close partner of OpenAI.

According to Wired, Rob Seaman, Slack’s Chief Product Officer, will serve as interim CEO of Slack.
