Recently, an AI agent product named Manus has gained rapid popularity on social media. According to its official website, Manus differs from large language model products as it focuses on handling various tasks in both work and daily life, aiming to help users complete all their tasks while they take a break.
The Manus project was developed by the Monica.im team, which belongs to Beijing Butterfly Effect Technology Co., Ltd. The team consists of two groups located in Beijing and Wuhan. However, shortly after gaining attention, the official social media account of Manus was suspended at noon on March 7, Beijing time.
In response to this situation, Ji Yichao, co-founder and chief scientist of Manus, issued a statement on social media on March 7. He explained that the suspension of the official account was an unexpected event and that the team was actively collaborating with the platform to resolve the issue. Preliminary analysis indicates that the suspension may be related to mentions of cryptocurrency scams by third parties.
Previously, some netizens discovered a cryptocurrency project with the same name as Manus, raising questions about whether Manus's recent rise to fame was part of a "marketing hype." In response, Ji Yichao clearly stated that Manus has never been involved in any cryptocurrency projects, token issuance, or blockchain initiatives. He emphasized that any enterprises using similar names claiming affiliation with Manus are fraudulent. He also mentioned that the team is taking legal action against these imposters and encouraged users to report suspicious accounts.
At present, further updates on the specific reasons for the suspension of the Manus official account and subsequent developments remain to be seen.
