Google Tests CC AI Agent to Summarize Emails, Calendar, and Docs

2025-12-17

Today, Google introduced a new artificial intelligence agent through its Google Labs division, designed to assist users in managing daily tasks by summarizing emails, calendar events, documents, and web information.

The tool, named CC, is built on Google's Gemini AI model. The company describes it as an early exploration into how agent-based AI can support everyday productivity workflows.

CC integrates with core Google services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive, combining them with relevant web context to generate a daily email digest called "Your Day." This summary highlights upcoming meetings, priority emails, deadlines, and other time-sensitive updates.

The service operates entirely through email, avoiding the need for a separate interface. Users receive the daily digest directly in their inbox and can interact with the agent by replying to the messages.

The agent is capable of drafting emails, inserting scheduling links, and recommending follow-up actions, while learning over time which types of information are most valuable to the individual user.

CC adapts based on user behavior, refining both the content it presents and its communication style as it gains more contextual understanding. Notably, the agent is intended to function as a lightweight coordination layer atop tools users already rely on, rather than replacing existing workflows.

This new offering is launching as an early-access experiment under Google Labs, initially available to Google AI Ultra account holders and select paid subscribers in the United States and Canada.
