Google announced on Monday an update to NotebookLM's video overview feature, now supporting 80 languages including French, German, Spanish, and Japanese. The company also enhanced the audio overview functionality, offering more detailed summaries for non-English audio content.
Last month, NotebookLM introduced the video overview feature, enabling users to convert notes, PDFs, and images into video presentations. Previously limited to English, this update is particularly beneficial for non-English speakers who prefer visual summaries in their native language.
Additionally, the audio overview feature continues to improve for non-English users. Initially offering only brief summaries, with full summaries available only in English, the update now allows users to receive more in-depth overviews in more than 80 languages. According to the company, users who prefer a concise summary can still opt for the short version.
These updates are designed to meet the needs of NotebookLM users worldwide, helping them learn through video or audio summaries regardless of their preferred language.
Starting today, these features are available to all users and will roll out globally over the next week.
