Perplexity AI Voice Assistant Could Be a Highlight for Motorola's New Razr

According to Bloomberg, Perplexity's AI voice assistant will play a significant role in the upcoming release of Motorola's new Razr phone, which is expected to be announced on April 24. Previously, Motorola had released a teaser video for the new Razr on social media, showcasing the letters "AI" on the foldable device.

A source disclosed that Perplexity has reached an agreement with Motorola to offer its AI assistant alongside Google's Gemini. Motorola plans to create a dedicated interface for Perplexity’s assistant to encourage user adoption and intends to highlight this feature prominently in its marketing efforts.

In addition, Perplexity is collaborating with T-Mobile's parent company to develop a new "AI phone." The intelligent agent in this device will be capable of handling tasks such as booking flights without requiring users to interact with apps.

There are also reports suggesting that Perplexity's assistant may make its way to Samsung devices, although negotiations are still in the early stages. Given that Samsung has already set Gemini as the default AI assistant and uses Google as the primary search engine, Perplexity would need further discussions to secure a default or pre-installed position on Samsung devices.
