According to reports, semiconductor giant NVIDIA plans to invest at least $500 million—and potentially up to $1 billion—in Poolside, a company focused on developing AI models for software engineering. Bloomberg reported that this investment will form part of Poolside’s ongoing $2 billion funding round, which values the company at $12 billion.

Bloomberg also noted that if Poolside successfully completes the remainder of its funding round, NVIDIA’s investment could rise to $1 billion.

This is not NVIDIA’s first investment in Poolside. The chipmaker previously participated in the company’s $500 million Series B round in October 2024.

NVIDIA has been an active investor in AI startups and continues to expand its portfolio across diverse sectors. For instance, the company is reportedly exploring a potential $500 million investment in Wayve, a UK-based autonomous driving firm. Last month, NVIDIA also acquired a $5 billion stake in Intel and outlined plans for future chip collaborations.
