Microsoft Tests Game Assistant Copilot in Xbox App for iOS and Android

2025-05-29

Microsoft announced on Wednesday that it has begun rolling out the beta version of its gaming assistant, Copilot. Testers can now experience this feature through the Xbox app on both iOS and Android platforms.

This early version of the experience allows the assistant to answer your gaming-related questions, provide links to more information, and offer responses based on your account, gaming history, achievements, and more.

For instance, you could ask: "What is my player score? Can you give me some tips to improve it?" or "I enjoy horror movies, do you have any game recommendations?" Regarding questions about your gaming history or account, you might inquire: "What was the last achievement I earned in Starfield?" or "When does my Game Pass subscription renew?"

"In this early version of the mobile feature, you can access the gaming assistant Copilot on a secondary screen without impacting your core gaming experience," explained Taylor O’Malley, Principal Program Manager at Xbox, in a blog post.

Once you pose a question to Copilot, it analyzes your player activity on Xbox as well as public information from Bing to formulate an answer. Microsoft stated that future updates will focus on enhancing the personalization and depth of assistance provided by Copilot, including proactive guidance.

The beta version of the gaming assistant Copilot is available in English for players aged 18 and above in the following countries and regions: Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Georgia, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong (SAR), India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Libya, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Oman, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, Uruguay, the United States, and Vietnam.
