Amplitude Launches Automated Insights, Bringing AI-Powered Analyst Workflows to Product Teams

2025-12-11

Behavioral analytics platform Amplitude has unveiled a new AI-powered feature called Automated Insights, designed to replicate the work of expert analysts in minutes rather than days.

The new capability addresses a common bottleneck for product teams: the time-consuming manual process of investigating data anomalies by sifting through experiments, feature launches, and marketing campaigns to pinpoint root causes. Automated Insights leverages artificial intelligence to automatically examine fluctuations, contextualize them with relevant business information, and generate actionable findings—eliminating the need for manual intervention.

By simultaneously analyzing multiple data inputs—including funnels, cohorts, and behavioral shifts—the feature enables teams to move directly from anomaly detection to decision-making.

When performance deviations or unexpected changes occur, the platform autonomously explores potential contributing factors such as specific product updates, campaigns, or user segments. It then delivers clear explanations of what happened, why it happened, and recommended next steps for the team.

The goal is to close the gap between data signals and actionable insights—a delay that often causes organizations to miss critical windows for meaningful optimization, according to Amplitude.

"AI has the power to transform how we work," said Janaki Vivrekar, software engineer at Amplitude, in a company blog post. "Just as Cursor reimagined coding with AI—boosting developer productivity and democratizing access—we believe our new AI analytics platform will similarly empower a new generation of analysts."

Alongside the launch of Automated Insights, Amplitude also announced that its Model Context Protocol connector is now natively available within OpenAI Group PBC’s ChatGPT service. This integration allows users to query their product, conversion, retention, and churn data using natural language directly through ChatGPT.

By linking Amplitude’s behavioral analytics layer directly to an AI-driven interface, teams can now ask conversational questions about their data and receive real-time, context-aware answers backed by production-grade analytics.

These enhancements aim to help organizations keep pace with increasingly complex digital products and accelerated release cycles—challenges that traditional analytics workflows struggle to address. Amplitude asserts that by automating both detection and interpretation, its platform empowers product, growth, and marketing teams to act on data faster and with greater confidence.
