Do you remember Apple's "Apple Intelligence" introduced last year? Now, it has become even more advanced.
Last month, a series of new features were launched, designed to make your devices more useful in daily life. These changes are deeply integrated into the company's operating system, focusing on breaking down communication barriers and enhancing creativity.
Bridging Language Gaps Through "Real-Time Translation"
One of the most human-centric new features is Real-Time Translation, designed to make cross-language communication seamless. It is directly integrated into Messages, FaceTime, and Phone apps and works seamlessly with AirPods Pro 3.
Users can now engage in real-time conversations with instant translation or view subtitles during FaceTime calls while still hearing the other person's voice. Apple explained in its press release, "It protects user privacy through on-device processing, ensuring personal conversations remain private."
Real-Time Translation also integrates with gestures and Siri commands, allowing users to easily activate it during calls or face-to-face conversations.
Visual Intelligence That Understands Your Screen
Apple's new visual intelligence tools take it further, allowing users to interact with displayed content. Whether identifying objects, translating text, or searching for items online, users can now highlight what they see and receive immediate results.
According to Apple, users can highlight objects on the screen "to search for that specific item or similar ones." With ChatGPT integration, users can also ask direct questions about the content they are viewing.
This visual enhancement is also linked to system-wide actions—users can trigger it via the action button, Control Center, or screenshot shortcut, making it easier to learn or take action on current content.
Creative Boosts With Genmoji and Image Playground
Apple’s playful side is showcased through new creative tools in Genmoji and Image Playground.
With the updated Genmoji tool, users can combine multiple emojis or pair them with short descriptions to create entirely new emojis. They can also adjust details like hairstyles and facial expressions to match real people in their contacts.
Meanwhile, Image Playground now integrates with ChatGPT, allowing users to generate artwork in styles such as watercolor or oil painting. Apple confirmed, "Image Playground sends the user's description or photo to ChatGPT, which then creates a unique image."
Personalized Workouts With a "Workout Buddy"
For fitness enthusiasts, Apple introduced Workout Buddy, an AI-driven feature that transforms workout sessions into personalized coaching experiences. It uses Apple Intelligence to analyze user workout data—such as heart rate, distance, and milestones—and delivers real-time voice motivation in a dynamic, coach-like style.
Apple stated that the system ensures privacy through on-device data processing, and the generated voices are "built using voice data from Fitness+ trainers, giving it the right energy, style, and tone for workouts."
Workout Buddy will initially be available in English and support popular workout types for Apple Watch users connected to an iPhone with Apple Intelligence enabled.
Shortcuts, Reminders, and Developer Access
The Shortcuts app now includes intelligent actions powered by Apple Intelligence, allowing users to automate complex workflows using writing tools or image generation. For example, users can summarize documents, extract data from PDFs, or compare transcripts with notes—all without sharing data externally.
Developers can also access Apple’s on-device large language models, allowing apps like CARROT Weather and Streaks to offer new personalized AI features. Apple confirmed that these experiences "work offline and protect user privacy, with AI inference provided free of charge to developers."
Reminders can now automatically categorize lists, Wallet can summarize order tracking details from emails, and Messages can suggest polls or add creative backgrounds through Image Playground.
Apple continues to emphasize its privacy-first AI approach. The company stated, "Many Apple Intelligence models run entirely on the device." For larger tasks, "Private Cloud Compute extends iPhone’s privacy and security to the cloud... data is never stored or shared with Apple."
All these new tools are now available as part of the latest software updates: iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26, and visionOS 26. Apple Intelligence is still in beta and supports English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
