Google Adds “Vibe Coding” to AI Studio Powered by Gemini

Google has introduced a new feature called "vibe coding" on its AI Studio platform, enabling users to build AI-powered applications faster and more easily—without grappling with complex backend integrations.

According to Google, the revamped experience allows developers and creators to go “from prompt to functional AI app in minutes” without needing to manage APIs, SDKs, or service connections.

“You can describe your dream multimodal application, and AI Studio—powered by our latest Gemini models—handles the heavy lifting,” the company said in a blog post. “We’ve made building powerful, feature-rich, AI-driven apps effortless.”

Users can simply describe what they want to build—such as a photo transformation tool or a writing assistant—and AI Studio automatically identifies and connects the necessary models and APIs. A new “I’m Feeling Lucky” button has also been added to help users quickly generate ideas and kickstart projects.

To inspire creativity, Google has transformed its app gallery into a visual library where users can explore and remix existing projects. During app creation, the brainstorming loading screen now displays context-aware suggestions generated by Gemini, turning idle moments into creative prompts.

Another addition is Annotation Mode, which lets users modify applications through direct interaction rather than code editing. The update also includes an option to add personal API keys, ensuring uninterrupted development once free usage quotas are exhausted.

Google says these enhancements are designed to empower a broader audience to build with AI. “We’re lowering the barrier between great ideas and working apps powered by Gemini—so anyone can build with AI,” the company added.
