Google's AI Mode Gains New Agent Features to Assist with Booking Event Tickets and Beauty Appointments

Google announced on Tuesday the rollout of a new agent capability within its AI Mode, enabling users to pose complex queries and follow-up actions to explore topics more deeply directly in Search.

Users can now receive assistance through AI Mode for tasks such as booking event tickets or scheduling beauty and wellness appointments.

For instance, you could say, “Find me two affordable tickets to an upcoming Shaboozey concert—preferably standing floor seats.” AI Mode will then scour multiple websites to locate real-time ticket options matching your specific criteria and present a curated list of available prices. It also provides direct links to booking pages so you can complete your purchase seamlessly.

This new agent feature is available to all U.S.-based users who have opted into Google’s experimental Search Labs program. The company noted that subscribers to Google AI Pro and Ultra tiers benefit from higher usage limits.

Google first introduced the agent functionality in AI Mode back in August, initially allowing users to search for restaurant reservations.

With this capability, users can request dinner reservations based on various preferences—including party size, date, time, location, and cuisine type. For example: “Find a reservation for three people this Friday after 6 p.m. around Logan Square. I’m in the mood for ramen or bibimbap.”

AI Mode then searches across multiple reservation platforms to identify restaurants with real-time availability that match the query, displaying a refined selection for the user to choose from.

“Our top priority in Google Search is connecting you with high-quality, trustworthy information,” Google explained on its Search Labs page. “This new mode is built on our core quality and safety frameworks—but it remains an early-stage experiment and may occasionally make mistakes.”

Google initially launched AI Mode in March as a competitive response to popular services like Perplexity AI and OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search. Since then, the tech giant has expanded AI Mode to over 180 countries and continues to enhance it with new features. Recent additions include access to the Canvas tool—which helps users create study plans and organize information from multiple sessions in a sidebar—and the ability to use Google Lens to inquire about content visible on your desktop screen.
