Kabir Narang, a founding General Partner at B Capital, has departed the global venture capital firm, according to reports. He was an early backer of several Indian startups during his tenure.
In a note shared with founders and reviewed by TechCrunch, Narang revealed he is laying the groundwork for a new investment platform slated to launch in 2026. The platform will focus on compounding returns “at the intersection of technology, artificial intelligence, and global capital flows.”
Since joining B Capital in March 2017, Narang co-led the firm’s Asia strategy from Singapore and served as chair of its Global Investment Committee. During his time at the firm, he backed prominent Indian startups including Meesho, Khatabook, CredAvenue, Bounce, and Bizongo.
“We’re living through one of the most profound technological revolutions in history—and one of the toughest tests of investor discipline,” Narang wrote. “AI itself scales ideas and shortens the distance from concept to outcome. Founders who combine this velocity with pricing power and improved unit economics will define the next generation of enduring value.”
While building his new investment vehicle, Narang informed founders that he is making personal investments of 1–2% in companies he believes can “compound intelligently.” This signals his continued involvement in early-stage investing alongside the development of a broader fund structure.
B Capital confirmed Narang’s departure to TechCrunch, noting that Eduardo Saverin, Karan Mohla, and Howard Morgan will now oversee the firm’s Asian portfolio in collaboration with its existing teams across South and Southeast Asia.
“After more than eight years with the firm, Kabir Narang—who focused on late-stage growth investments in Asia—has left to pursue other opportunities,” a B Capital spokesperson said. “We’re grateful for his contributions and wish him continued success.”
Founded in 2015 by Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin and former Bain Capital executive Raj Ganguly, B Capital is a multi-stage investor specializing in technology, healthcare, and resilient tech. Headquartered in San Francisco, the firm manages over $9 billion across nine offices in the U.S. and Asia. Through its strategic partnership with Boston Consulting Group, B Capital also provides portfolio companies with operational and strategic support.
Prior to joining B Capital, Narang spent nearly nine years at Fidelity-backed Eight Roads Ventures India, where he served as Managing Director.
“B Capital remains deeply committed to our strategy in Asia and our broader global platform,” the spokesperson added. “With strong leadership and an experienced team, we are well positioned in the region to capture the next wave of innovation and continue backing category-defining companies in our core markets.”
