Motorola Launches New "Moto AI" Suite with Three Key Intelligent Features

2024-11-28

Motorola has officially unveiled a new artificial intelligence suite today—“Moto AI”. This suite focuses on three core functionalities and is announced to be available starting today for select Motorola smartphone models.

While Motorola's Razr foldable phone launched in 2024 has garnered attention as one of the initial devices equipped with Google Gemini, the company has not slowed its innovation efforts and has been actively developing proprietary AI technologies. The newly introduced “Moto AI” suite will debut first on high-end models such as Razr (2024 version), Razr 50, Razr+ (2024 version), Razr 50 Ultra, and Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, offering users a more intelligent experience.

The “Moto AI” suite comprises three main features: the “Catch me up” notification summary system, the “Pay attention” audio recording and transcription function, and the “Remember this” feature for extracting information from photos or screenshots. Users can easily activate Moto AI by double-tapping the back of the device and selecting the desired function from the emerging menu.

The “Catch me up” feature consolidates missed notifications in real-time, helping users quickly stay informed of the latest updates. The “Pay attention” function records audio and transcribes it into text summaries, allowing users to review important information at any time. Additionally, the “Remember this” feature can process photos or screenshots taken by the user and utilize the information when answering user queries, providing more intelligent services.

However, despite the significant potential of these features, demonstrations in Motorola’s promotional videos have not fully met expectations. The “Catch me up” feature's demo merely recited the content of each notification, failing to showcase its application potential in complex scenarios. The “Pay attention” function's presentation appeared somewhat odd, raising questions about its actual use cases. As for the “Remember this” feature, while it can accurately extract information from user screenshots, it provided general advice in response to user questions, which does not align with its promotional claims.

Nevertheless, Motorola stated that these features are still in the testing phase, and their effectiveness may vary among users. In the future, as technology continues to advance and user feedback is incorporated, the company will continue to optimize and refine these features to deliver a more intelligent and convenient user experience.
