Headquartered in Bengaluru, digital health platform Healthify has launched Ria Voice—an AI-powered real-time health coach that leverages OpenAI’s Realtime API to deliver natural, voice-to-voice coaching experiences.
This global rollout positions Healthify among the first companies worldwide to deploy a fully multimodal, audio-native health agent into production. Users can engage in live conversations with the coach, show their meals or physical activities, and receive immediate, context-aware guidance.
Ria Voice marks the 3.0 evolution of Healthify’s AI technology stack, moving beyond legacy voice assistants that rely on transcribing speech before generating responses. By processing audio natively, the system can detect emotional cues, handle diverse accents, support code-switching across languages, and respond with minimal latency.
The coach integrates data on nutrition, fitness, sleep, stress, blood glucose, heart rate, and body composition to deliver a level of personalization that mirrors human coaching. Users can log meals simply by describing them or pointing their camera at their plate—eliminating the need for manual input.
“Healthify’s mission has always been to put a personal coach in your pocket. With Ria Voice, we’re finally turning that vision into reality,” said Tushar Vashisht, Co-founder and CEO of Healthify. “By harnessing OpenAI’s Realtime API, Ria can understand your diet, fitness, sleep, stress, and metabolic data all in one place—and respond at human-like speed.”
Pragya Misra, Head of Strategy and Global Affairs for OpenAI India, noted that the product embodies the original intent behind OpenAI’s new real-time infrastructure. “Our Realtime API transforms voice AI from static interfaces into dynamic, conversational experiences. Healthify has used this capability to build a coach that’s fast, responsive, and nuanced enough for personal health needs,” she said.
Ria Voice supports over 60 global languages—including more than 14 Indian languages—and is trained on hundreds of millions of real conversations between Healthify users and human coaches. It goes beyond logging and recommendations by generating personalized meal plans tailored to individual preferences, allergies, and macronutrient goals.
The experience isn’t limited to the Healthify app—it’s also accessible via WhatsApp and wearable devices. Through integration with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, users can interact with Ria hands-free and track meals using photos captured directly through the glasses, making Healthify one of the earliest health applications in the Meta smart glasses ecosystem.
