Google Launches U.S. AI Infrastructure Academy Program
Google has unveiled its second cohort of startups participating in the American Infrastructure Institute for AI, a program designed to support ventures leveraging artificial intelligence for solutions in cybersecurity, education, and transportation. The four-month initiative targets seed-stage to Series A companies, offering non-dilutive funding alongside leadership and sales training resources. Delivered primarily through virtual sessions with an in-person summit at Google's headquarters, the application window opened in late April and closed mid-May, requiring candidates to demonstrate six months of runway funding and tangible product progress.
The search giant has established a successful track record in identifying promising AI startups. Last year's inaugural class included Cloverleaf AI, a government contractor that later secured $2.8 million in seed funding, and Zordi, an agritech automation company that raised $20 million from Khlosa Ventures.
Google also maintains partnerships with leading AI companies utilizing its cloud infrastructure. The latest cohort features 17 innovative ventures:
- Attuned Intelligence: AI-powered voice agents for call centers
- Block Harbor: Cybersecurity solutions for vehicle systems
- CircNova: AI-driven RNA analysis for therapeutic applications
- CloudRig: AI tools for construction project management
- Making Space: Connecting employers with disabled talent pools
- MedHaul: Non-emergency medical transport coordination platform
- Mpathic: Clinical workflow automation and trial monitoring
- Nimblemind.ai: Organizational health data management
- Omnia Fishing: Personalized angling recommendations
- Otrafy: Supply chain automation systems

This initiative represents one among multiple AI-focused investments by Google. Last year's $20 million AI Accelerator program supported non-profit research organizations, while CEO Sundar Pichai announced a $120 million Global AI Opportunity Fund to expand AI education access. Google's entrepreneurship ecosystem includes specialized programs like Founder Institute and Growth Academy, with plans to direct its startup founder fund toward AI-centric ventures.
