Leena AI, a company specializing in enterprise employee assistant solutions, has unveiled its latest innovation dubbed "AI Colleagues." These advanced agents leverage natural language processing to engage in spoken conversations within professional environments.
The company's AI agents are engineered to emulate human coworkers' workflows across diverse domains including IT support, HR operations, financial management, marketing strategies, sales development, and procurement processes. This marks a significant evolution from traditional text-based interfaces.
Adit Jain, CEO and co-founder of Leena AI, emphasized during a SiliconANGLE interview that while the company initially focused on text-based AI development, they now view conversational voice interfaces as pivotal for future workplace accessibility. "Modern organizational structures traditionally involve human-to-human reporting hierarchies," Jain explained, "but we're witnessing a transformation toward AI colleagues who report to humans while collaborating with human workers."
By implementing voice-driven interactions, Jain highlighted that these agents enable employees to complete tasks at unprecedented speeds. The AI functions as an active collaborator rather than a confined digital tool, particularly when text-based communication proves cumbersome. "Currently 35% of Leena interactions occur via voice with average conversation durations reaching 7.5 minutes," Jain noted.
Voice-enabled engagement with AI agents offers natural workflow integration - employees can converse with their AI counterparts while commuting or waiting in queues, mirroring traditional human-to-human workplace interactions. For instance, users could say: "Leena, yesterday I had lunch with that executive director. I want to create a lead for them in Salesforce and obtain technical details from our engineering team about the deep tech questions they asked."
The AI agents utilize Salesforce integration to complete required forms and analyze meeting records to extract requested technical information. They then prepare emails for review before forwarding to technical teams, demonstrating sophisticated task orchestration capabilities.
Powered by agent AI technology, these colleagues execute tasks autonomously once objectives are established, requiring minimal human input. While always seeking user approval for critical actions to ensure optimal experience, they remain available 24/7/365. "Our AI colleagues awaken at 8 AM with full digital identities including names, phone numbers, email IDs, and Slack/Teams profiles," Jain elaborated. "They'll even proactively remind you of pending tasks."
These agents possess additional anthropomorphic traits like preferred sports teams and color preferences to enhance relatability. Upon activation, they access previous day's notes and systematically perform routine tasks such as calendar reviews, email organization, and event coordination to eliminate administrative burdens.
"We don't treat them as mere task performers," Jain emphasized. The term "AI colleagues" was deliberately chosen over terms like "digital employee" to reflect their collaborative nature. "The expectation is that when challenges arise, agents will approach managers or colleagues and ask, 'Can you assist me?'"
Leena reports overwhelmingly positive early responses from clients. A senior executive at an unnamed major industrial company projected potential 50% productivity gains in IT and HR departments through voice-enabled agent adoption.
